Hendricks Public School Safe Learning Plan 2020-2021

A Hybrid for All Students Base Model

The goal of Hendricks Public School is to create the safest environment possible for students to attend school in person to receive a quality, equitable education and to prepare all students for a quality, equitable distance learning experience should the need arise schoolwide or for those choosing distance learning as their safe educational option.

Positive Case Determination and Communication

Hendricks Public Schools is not allowed to share any personally identifiable information of individuals suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19. We understand that this can be frustrating. HPS is committed to communicating the impact of COVID-19 during the school year by:

  • If a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19 all staff and families will receive notification of the positive case.

  • If a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19 and was in the building, on a school bus or participating in a school practice or activity that day or 2 days prior, contact tracing will be conducted to determine which staff and students are considered close contacts to the positive case.

  • Any person that is found to be a close contact to someone who tests positive for COVID-19 will be contacted directly by administration at HPS and will be required to quarantine from school for 14 days from the last day of exposure to the positive case.

  • HPS administration will follow the Minnesota Department of Health Decision Tree and/or contact Southwest West Central Cooperative regional support, Southwest Health and Human Services and/or the Minnesota Department of Health to determine how to advise staff, students and family members with symptoms and positive or negative tests for COVID-19.
