Horizons After School Program

We know school is important.

 

At HPS, we strive to find new, fun, and stimulating ways to engage our students in the learning process so they can excel in academics and personal well being.

We are excited to offer our HORIZONS after-school program to our students. This program is sponsored in partnership with the 21st Century Community Learning Centers and allows us to offer an expanded and complete after-school program to our parents and students, Kindergarten through 12th grade.

The program is 3:00-5:00 PM, Monday through Thursdays. Grades K-4 are on a rotating schedule between 3-4 different teachers each week. Subject areas we will work with include art, science, phy ed, technology, spelling, math and reading. If your child needs homework assistance, that is provided, too. The focus of the 5-12 grades is homework help on an individual basis throughout the school year. We also try to offer various activities to grades 5+ based on the interest of the students involved.

All students are given the opportunity to have a snack before the program begins and a light supper before they leave—at no cost.

​

In addition to the meals,  we provide transportation at the end of the day.
